Except for Attach Reference, the reference tools operate on the models that are selected in the References dialog. If no model is selected there, you are prompted to identify a model. See Identifying references for more information.

The tools in the Reference toolbox operate on the models that are selected in the Model tab of the Project Explorer dialog. Right-click a reference in the Model tab of the Project Explorer dialog to open the pop-up menu which allows you to do the following operations on a reference:

• Turn On

• Turn Off

• Set Color

• Set Transparency

• Reset Display

Most of the following procedures work only when you are working with Composition files.

The <Ctrl> and <Shift> keys are used to select multiple models.
